I have been quilting for 30 years. I love the medium of fabric for it's tangible quality in color play and movement of light. I also love comfy-cozy things!
I tend to create my designs with a focus in using color in an impressionistic technique that illuminates the varying hues and movement of light and shadow.
Thus, my style tends to be contemporary in nature, adapted from more vintage quilt block patterns.
Heirloom Preservation
With a background in archaeology, the history of objects has always been of interest to me. In creating memory quilts, I incorporate the awareness of the past by rennovating traditional quilt block designs and vintage fabric in order to preserve it's antique quality and value.
Rennovating the (usually forgotten) textile resources of by-gone eras brings the beauty of the past to the present, to be re-appreciated.
